Designed for beginner and intermediate surfers, our programme blends daily coached surf sessions with surf theory, video analysis, practical workshops, movement and recovery, giving you the knowledge, technique and support to improve both in and out of the water.
With small coaching groups, experienced instructors and access to many surf breaks suitable for different levels, every session is tailored to your level and the day’s conditions.

Whether you’re travelling solo, with friends or as a couple, you’ll become part of a welcoming community where everyone is encouraged to progress at their own pace. Our small coaching groups create an intimate, supportive environment, allowing our experienced coaches to provide personalised guidance both in and out of the water.
Your learning continues beyond the surf session through dedicated surf theory classes, practical workshops and two personalised video analysis sessions. Wellness, Movement & Recovery
Wellness at Xanadu Village is designed to support your surf journey. Our rooftop yoga shala provides a peaceful space to move, stretch and recharge without ever leaving the property.
Through surfer-focused yoga sessions, you’ll improve mobility, flexibility and body awareness, helping you feel stronger both in and out of the water.
Midweek, enjoy a dedicated recovery experience at SOMA, where heat and cold therapy helps ease tired muscles, reduce soreness and restore your energy for the days ahead.
Xanadu Village team
The Xanadu Village team is a dynamic group of dedicated individuals passionate about creating an unforgettable experience for guests. Leading the surf programme is Leah, our expert Surf Manager, while Maya, the Assistant Manager, ensures smooth daily operations across the board. Bryan brings his calming expertise as our resident yoga teacher, guiding guests to relaxation and balance. Supporting them are our incredible housekeepers, Joe and Watti, who maintain the comfort and cleanliness of the village, along with our talented kitchen team, Bidang and Ayu, serving up delicious meals. Rounding out the team is our vigilant security staff, ensuring a safe and serene environment for all. Together, they embody the spirit and warmth of Xanadu Village.

Progression-Focused Coaching
Develop your surfing through dedicated surf theory, practical workshops, and two in-depth video analysis sessions. Small coaching groups ensure highly personalised feedback, helping you progress faster both in and out of the water.
ISA certified
The only surf resort in Lombok with the whole ISA (International Surf Association) certified team. Our surf instructors are trained in first response, aquatic rescue and adhere to international teaching and safety standards.
Daily surf adventures
Spend your days exploring Lombok’s incredible coastline in search of the best waves for your level. Expect around two hours of coached surfing each day, with sessions carefully planned around tides, conditions and your progression. With an array of surf breaks nearby suitable to various levels, every day brings a new opportunity to learn.
Yoga & Movement sessions
Move with purpose through yoga & movement sessions designed specifically for surfers. From mobility and flexibility to strength, balance and breathwork, each class helps you surf better, recover faster and prepare your body for every session in the water.
Sauna, Ice Bath, Magnesium Pool - Surf Recovery Session
Recovery is part of progression. Midway through the week, enjoy a dedicated recovery session at SOMA, where ice baths sauna and hot plunge magnesium pools help reduce muscle fatigue, improve circulation and prepare you for the remainder of your surf week.
End-of-week sunset meditation
Slow down, reflect and soak in everything you’ve learned throughout the week. This guided sunset meditation is a chance to quiet the mind, celebrate your progress and leave Lombok feeling grounded, refreshed and inspired.

There are no surf nor yoga on Sundays as it's the check-in/check-out day.
Can I stay less than a week or check in on a different day?
Is this retreat suitable for longboarders?
Yes! We have a number of great spots for longboarders as well as a good selection of longboards which are included in the package. This means you don't have to bring your longboard over as we know travelling with a log can be a hassle. Several of our coaches longboard and they'll be happy to guide you and provide tips throughout the week.
I’ve never done yoga or meditation. Is this for me?
Is it possible to surf more than once per day?
This is a great question and we totally get where you’re coming from. You want to surf as much as possible. It’s natural! The reason why we have one session per day is that we prefer to run our sessions in the best conditions possible and not just send you out to tick a box. This means we have one window per day when the tide, wind and swell align. We then pick a spot with the least amount of people. Plus, trust us when we say that as a beginner, 2 hours in the water is plenty of time. You’ll be tired by the end, for sure. And we’d rather have you enjoy one epic session as opposed to two average ones.
Do we get free time?
What meals are included?
The package includes a welcome dinner, daily breakfast and a Saturday surf trip take-away lunch.
How do I know my surf level?
For the organisation purpose, we have created three levels. Read the below descriptions and choose the level that best describes you. You can move up or down the level throughout the week, so don't stress about it. This is just to start the week.
Level 1
You’ve surfed before but you still have some issues with the pop up, use your knee when standing up or easily loose balance. Select this level to go over the basics once again and create strong foundations to progress faster. You can change the during your stay.
Also, this level is suitable for first time surfers and very early beginners.
Level 2
Your pop up is on point and are starting to do your first turns, we surf easy mellow waves normally for that we try to aim for higher tides and more shoulder section of the waves.
Level 3
You're a mid-length or a longboard rider comfortable in the ocean and being in the waves when slightly bigger sets arrive. You catch waves by yourself without being pushed into the waves. You can angle your take off, turn the longboard or a bigger board, and you’ve maybe started thinking about taking your first steps to the nose or reaching for your first hang five or working on improving your efficiency and flow.
Level 4
Perfect if you are looking for more challenging waves and if you are using a shortboard. You know your way around in the line up and can take waves by yourself.
