Embark on a journey into the vibrant world of the Xanadu Team as we unveil the story of Kayan Noel, our dynamic surf coach, ocean kid and talented photographer who has infused his passion into Xanadu. Hailing from the picturesque island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain, Kayan’s love for capturing the beauty of surfing through his lens blossomed from a young age as he jokingly encouraged friends to conquer the biggest waves with a mischievous grin.
At the age of 23 Kayan ventured out and left the Canary Islands for Sri Lanka, where he worked at various surf camps. After having closed the Sri Lankan chapter, he was making his way to Australia when we intercepted him and steered him away into Lombok waters instead. We convinced him to join Xanadu, where he took charge of the Xanadu surf programme (with a fancy title of a surf director). He is also the man behind the lens during our retreats. In Xanadu’s cosy embrace, Kayan’s talent, curiosity, love for the ocean, dedication and the skill to build great connections with other team members and the guests shine brightly, mixing perfectly with our local instructors’ knowledge, positivity and camaraderie. Together, the surf team create a surfing experience like no other.
For Kayan, the fusion of surf coaching and photography is a dream come true. His photographs serve as windows into the soul of Xanadu, capturing the unique experience and emotions, inviting the world to share our passion for waves and community.
Enjoy!
